Michael Gove has warned, and under fire the Minister of Education, in the confidential advice of quality control with the result that local authorities have a case of “pretty good” in bids to recover legal costs incurred by the cancellation of programs to build the school.
Advice, leaked to the Sunday Telegraph, is the latest blow to Mr. Goff, a battle against the effects of his announcement failed last month, which canceled more than 700 projects.
Known at least two local authorities – Sandwell and Nottingham City Council – should be prepared on possible legal challenges, and many other councils may follow the activities that could see taxpayers facing payouts totaling hundreds of millions of pounds.
